Publication Ethics

Publication is the final stage of research and therefore a responsibility for all researchers. Scholarly publications are expected to provide a detailed and permanent record of research. Because publications form the basis for both new research and the application of findings, they can affect not only the research community but also, indirectly, society at large. Researchers therefore have a responsibility to ensure that their publications are honest, clear, accurate, complete, and balanced. Research publications should avoid misleading, selective, or ambiguous reporting. The research being published should have been conducted in an ethical and responsible manner and should comply with all relevant legislation. Researchers should present their results clearly, honestly, and without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate data manipulation. Researchers should strive to describe their methods clearly and unambiguously so that their findings can be confirmed by others. Researchers should adhere to publication requirements that submitted work is original, is not plagiarised (similarity index not more than 20%) and has not been published elsewhere in any language. All submissions to ST XAVIERS UNIVERSITY KOLKATA JOURNAL OF INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH will be checked for plagiarism through the TurnitIn anti-plagiarism software by our Editorial Board, to ensure originality. Work showing more than 20% similarity will not be considered for publication. Authors may be asked to revise their work in order to improve the similarity index. Work should not be submitted concurrently to more than one publication. Authors should take collective responsibility for submitted and published work. The authorship of research publications should accurately reflect individual’s contributions to the work and its reporting. Funding sources and relevant conflicts of interest should be disclosed. Authors should represent the work of others accurately in citations and quotations, and carefully cite all sources. Authors should not copy references from other publications if they have not read the cited work. Once an article has been accepted for publications, authors will be expected to fill and send us a signed form declaring:

1. Originality of the article
2. Conflict of interest (if any)
3. Receipt of Assistance from any institution/organization
3. Copyright assignation to journal
